Have You Seen Filthy Britain SOS Yet?

We all know that when we create waste of any kind, it needs to be disposed of properly, whether that’s using council bins outside your house, by hiring a domestic waste clearance company to come and help out or by going to your local recycling centre to dispose of it yourself responsibly.

However, there are a few people out there who fail to do any of these and fly-tipping – where rubbish is taken to a random location and just dumped there, thus becoming someone else’s problem – has long been a problem all over the UK.

Unfortunately, the pandemic has made the situation worse, with some rural parts of the country seeing a 300 per cent rise in fly-tipping.

If you want to see just how bad the situation is, you might want to catch an episode of Channel 5’s new show, Filthy Britain SOS, an observational series that focuses on the fight against rubbish being dumped in the countryside.

The programme exposes various incidents of fly-tipping around the country and the work that council teams and volunteers undertake in order to clear the waste and tackle the problem head on.

Speaking to the Buckingham and Winslow Advertiser, enforcement officer from Buckinghamshire Council David Rounding said: “I support any way of getting the message out to people about how anti-social fly-tipping is and how expensive and time-consuming clear up operations are.

“While the series is hugely entertaining and it was good to take part, the serious message is don’t fly-tip, be responsible and avoid a criminal record, hefty fine or even a custodial sentence.”

If you do have any waste that needs clearing, we can take care of that for you so make sure you give us at UK Rubbish Clearance a call. No job is too big or too small!
